Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do you take insurance? ​​​​

    • Yes, I accept Blue Cross and Blue Shield of IL (BCBS-IL, PPO) and Cigna Insurance. If you are not sure if I accept your insurance then contact me and I can check before we schedule an appointment. ​

  • Do you accept cash/credit cards? 

    • Yes, I use a HIPPA compliant and secure service for credit card payments. 

  • Do you accept sliding scale if I don't have insurance? 

    • Yes, we will discuss the details of your payment before we s​schedule your first appointment. 

  • What should I expect for our first session? 

    • We will review the required consents and forms that you completed prior to our meeting. We will then review your reasons for seeking treatment and I'll ask you about your history, and together we will develop a path forward. This process will take about an hour and there is no commitment to any future sessions.  

  • How many sessions will I need? 

    • It depends. There are times when you may want a professional opinion about a specific issue, or maybe you you are interested in a few sessions, or perhaps you may be more interested in a longer-term treatment. My goal is help you with ​

  • How long are appointments typically? 

    • The first appointment (intake) will be be closer to one hour and follow-up appointments are less than an hour (50-55 minutes typically)​

  • Do you offer Telehealth? 

    • Yes, due to covid-19 I am only conducting treatment over Telehealth and I provide a secure/HIPPA compliant platform that will not cost you anything. Essentially, I will provide you with a secure link for each session. 

  • Do you work with veterans? 

    • Yes, for 11 years I worked at a VA (in multiple areas across mental health). ​I am very familiar with military culture, the VA/DOD and the paperwork associated with each of these government organizations. 

  • Do you work with LGBTQ communities? 

    • Yes! And I consider myself an LGBTQ ally. We are all people with our unique strengths and I offer treatment in a safe space. ​

 

  • Do you do neuropsychological testing? 

    • I do but not at the moment due to covid-19. If you are interested in this then contact me and I may be able to provide you with updated information. ​I also offer more advanced Psychological Testing when indicated.
