ABOUT ME

I have the unique experience of having training and experience in both advanced assessment (Neuropsychology) and Psychotherapy. I moved to Chicago in 2008 to complete my PhD and quickly decided to make it my home. I have stayed here ever since.

I created Psychological Assessment and Treatment Services to offer a more tailored and complete approach to mental health after working in large, bureaucratic hospital settings where people can get lost in the shuffle.

My approach to Psychotherapy is to begin to understand your unique perspective and emotional presence and then to develop a treatment strategy that meets your needs and goals. I also hope to engage this process in a welcoming, safe, and authentic setting. Our first session together will explore your reasons for seeking treatment, answer any questions you may have, and then we will begin to formulate a plan forward. I offer a large spectrum of mental health services that includes providing a professional opinion on a specific issue, short-term therapy, developing a sound therapeutic relationship over time, and offer formal evaluations with written report.

I primarily use a combination approach of Cognitive-Behavioral Treatment, Interpersonal, and Humanistic approaches and treat conditions ranging from general stress, sleep problems, adjustment, over/under-eating, substance abuse, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, grief/coping, relations issues, among others. More specialized treatments may be offered, especially for those with trauma or PTSD, after an intake or evaluation and when indicated.

I provide Neuropsychological Assessment for adults with referrals ranging from ADHD (adult), learning disability (adult), cognitive symptoms resulting from neurologic impairments including traumatic brain injury, stroke, and dementia. My approach to Neuropsychological Assessment is Rehabilitative and strength based.
